Robert Sherman (music critic)

Robert Sherman (born 1932) is an American music critic, radio personality, academic, and writer on music. He is the son of pianist Nadia Reisenberg. From 1964-2003 he was a music critic for The New York Times. Since 1969 he has hosted the folk music radio program Woody's Children; for the first 30 years on WQXR-FM and beginning in the Fall of 1999 on WFUV. He is the author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Classical Music and has co-authored two books with pianist and comedian Victor Borge: My Favorite Intermissions and My Favorite Comedies in Music. He and his brother Alexander Sherman co-authored a book on their morther. He currently teaches courses on the 'business of music' at the Juilliard School.[1]
